George R. Halsey, owner of GRH Law has been practicing business and high technology law for over 20 years. George draws on extensive knowledge and experience in the high technology industry, to package the most efficient, accurate, cost effective services for all GRH Law offerings.

Prior to GRH Law, George served as a General Counsel at SunExpress, a subsidiary of Sun Microsystems, and as an Associate General Counsel at Sun Microsystems and Honeywell, Inc. George was the lead legal negotiator in technology acquisition, licensing, distribution, trans-national transactions and multi-party tax-leveraged transactions including transactions in excess of $550 million.

George is a founding member of the American Committee for Interoperable Systems (ACIS) which influenced changes in US, European and Japanese copyright law. This culminated in international treaties promoted by the World Intellectual Property Organization, portions of which are included in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998.  George was also a member of the legal steering committee that launched the Infiniband Trade Association, (IBM, Sun, Dell, HP and Intel) defining new standards for high bandwidth interoperable systems.

George was elected chairperson of the Boston Bar Association’s Computer Law and Internet Committee and has presented on various intellectual property law and electronic media topics. George is a graduate of Harvard College, and earned his JD from the Boston University School of Law.
